Choosing Health

The many aspects of our life that contribute towards our sense of health and wellbeing can be viewed as pieces of a jigsaw, so working with only a few pieces does not give you the whole picture. The aim of Ayurveda is balance at all levels of our being – physical, emotional & spiritual. Approaching your health and wellbeing wholistically in all aspects of your life gives you a much greater chance of achieving your optimal level of health and wellbeing.

From an Ayurvedic perspective the path to your optimal health and wellbeing begins with being aware of who you are and understanding how the many different aspects of your life influence your state of health and wellbeing.

This very practical, holistic approach can help you restore and maintain balance and harmony in all areas of your life.
  • At a physical level this is being aware of the foods and lifestyle that suit your constitution and understanding one of the key principles of Ayurveda – we are all different and different things suit different people.
  • At an emotional level it is understanding the connection between your emotions and your physical wellbeing, the beliefs that underpin your emotions and how those beliefs create patterns of behaviour and influence your life choices.
  • At a spiritual level it is being aware that there is more to life than the roles and achievements that life seems to have become today. Finding meaning in your life through a sense of purpose, core values that guide your life choices and a vision of how you would like your life to be.
Ideally small incremental changes are more likely to bring about sustainable benefits so this is not about turning your life upside down or making it harder. You start with restoring balance in ways that you feel comfortable with, this may include some simple dietary or lifestyle adjustments, herbs, massage oils or stress reducing treatments.

As you start to restore your natural state of balance with these small changes you will naturally be pulled more towards other things that support your health and wellbeing and away from those that don’t.

So the question is how do you really feel and when would you like to start feeling better?
