Ayurveda recognised that your physical health is intertwined with your emotional wellbeing. In the same way that you taste and process food through your physical digestion it is equally important to feel and connect with your emotions. When this doesn’t happen, over time feelings that may have been avoided or suppressed may be expressed through your body as a way of letting you know that something isn’t resolved. So, as part of healing your physical symptoms it is also important to realise, experience and release your emotional ‘stuff’.
Combining many years of counselling/coaching experience with Ayurvedic principles Mary provide's a compassionate sounding board and practical guidance to assist you in:
- Exploring the connection between your physical symptoms and your emotions and what your body is trying to communication to you - the BodyMind connection.
- Identifying your programmed beliefs.
- Reflecting on patterns of behaviour and situations in your life to see how these beliefs are guiding your life choices and emotional responses.
- Connecting with your core values and inner power to make the changes that you want to see.
When I first came to see Mary I was very unhappy with myself and my life. I wasn't living I was just going through the motions, though everyone on the outside wouldn't have known. My health was deteriorating and my asthma was getting worse every year.
The best thing about seeing Mary was that she never once allowed me to manipulate her or use excuses (no matter how good they appeared to be) for my behaviours and she was able to help me see what part I was playing in my own destiny. And this was a feat as I have been to counsellors and other health professionals and could always justify things to make it seem that I was the victim. Mary never ever allowed me to make excuses and encouraged me to take responsibility for my own actions and the role I was playing in those situations and for this I will always be grateful. She was able to get me to be accountable for my own actions and not allow me to say it happened because I had no control of the situation. She allowed me to see my habits and gently helped me see for myself what needed to be done and how I could do this for myself. She helped me see I did have control, control in how I reacted.
Since working with Mary I am in a new job and am now following my dream with my career. I am living in a new state and loving every minute of it and the most exciting thing for me is that I have spent my first winter in 14 years with no asthma. I now ride my push bike everywhere and am eating well which I haven't done either of these things for years. Mary allowed me to find myself again and to find the strengthe to live the life I want to live, to just live and not wallow in self pity but to get out there and do.
Thank you so much Mary for all your help you gave me when I needed it the most. I will always be eternally grateful.
