Mary Woolley, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant

As an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant, my aim is to help you feel healthier and happier by restoring balance in all aspects of your life – Body, Mind and Spirit. I will introduce you to your unique Ayurvedic constitution and provide simple nutrition and lifestyle suggestions, herbal preparations, treatments and emotional support to help you rebalance and rejuvenate at all levels.

My holistic approach blends the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with my own life skills and experience to support and guide you towards your optimum health and wellbeing - in a way that works for you. Through my own life experience I understand how elusive a ‘balanced life’ can be. Over the last 30 years I have juggled multiple roles as a wife, mother of three and now a grandmother, an ongoing student, 20 years as a senior manager in a variety of large community service organisations and now running a busy practice. Using the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda I have developed strategies that enable me to maintain balance that incorporate the practicalities of life, and I can help you do the same.

Since becoming a student of Ayurveda in 1998 I  have completed studies with Dr. Ajit through the Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies (AIAS) and subsequent workshops, seminars and clinics with a variety of Indian and Western teachers including Maya Tiwari (Mother Maya), Dr Smita Naram, Dr Ram Kumar, Guru Balachandran Nair, Dr Shaun Matthews, Farida Irani and Robert Sveboda.

Since opening Ananda Veda (means Blissful Knowledge), the first Ayurvedic Lifestyle practice in Newcastle, NSW in 2006 I have worked with hundreds of clients ranging in age from 7  to 91 years for a wide variety of conditions.

In addition to providing individual consultations and traditional treatments I also conduct a range of workshops, information sessions and retreats to support your discovery and exploration of Ayurveda.

In 2008 I was invited to be part of the Byron Yoga Teacher Training programme in Sydney and provide the Ayurvedic component of their teacher training programmes.
